how to monitor an autistic childs room

by Rivkah

My son is 8 and severely autistic. For lots of reasons, I would like to be able to monitor him when he is in his room at night. Has anyone used a video monitor and if so, what kind and how did you rig it so the child won't try to tamper with it? Also, how about a door with a window or one way mirror? Just wondering what others have tried.
