Even Little Breaks Help Caregivers

Even a little time to yourself helps. And, try not to spend that time cleaning house! I like to get a good hot shower when my little one is napping - although sometimes I just nap too! If you're not into the respite idea or it's not available, try other family members who can watch your child for a bit to give you a break.

Get your hair done, or your nails, or a massage, or even a bubble bath. It doesn't have to be all day or all weekend. I know for me it's hard to be away from my little one for long periods of time, but we're both better for those breaks. And, I can tell when we've not had a break in a while too.

It's easier said than done, but worth it in the long run.
