Average life span of someone with Down Syndrome

What is a life span for down syndrome people?

Editor's Note:
Without doing any major research, it seems that the latest major study that was done was in 2002. At that point, the average life span was 49.

However, that study also noted that it had improved dramatically over the last decade, when it was only 25. So, there is good reason to believe that the average now may be longer still.

Also, the same study reference also makes note of other conditions that occur in the 50's, 60's and 70's - so the average of 49 doesn't say too much about the actual range of lifespan.

Just like the rest of the population. :-)

Hope that helps.
