$100 verizon bill for movies rented by autistic daughter

by Debbie
(Pasadena, Md)

When I received my last months bill, I saw over $100 worth of charges for movies that my 18 year old autistic daughter bought or rented. Of course I had no idea she knew how to do this until I got the bill. I immediately put a block on the movies through parental controls. I then called Verizon and explained the situation to them.

A very rude lady spoke with me and said, "well I can call technical services and see if the movies were watched. If they were watched then you have to pay for them."

Well, of course they were watched. I offered to send any paperwork that would be needed to verify my daughter was autistic. She was horrible. Mean and nasty on the phone and said I just needed to pay my bill.

Is there anything that I can do?

Thank you... Debbie P.
