Diagnosis Error?

Hi
My son is 11 , he was diagnosed w asd not otherwise specified when he was 2 years old.

He is high functioning now , and I'm very happy that I have a child like him.

He was never violent , it's a problem for him to defend himself. When he sees a kid being punished ( time out ) or yelled at , my son gets very upset.

Autism spectrum is a an umbrella covering different symptoms. But I don't think that some of the violent kids were diagnosed right.

Autistic kids can't purposely hurt anybody. It can be if they need to protect themselves only , or their way to communicate . But not hurting to cause pain !

There has to be something else going on with kids who turn violent. Maybe it's psychopathic or schizophrenic disorders?
