The Clip Talker is a great lightweight portable speech device. It is basically palm sized - 1½ x 2½ x ½ inches. The clip is removable, and you can record a message up to 8 seconds long - which should work fine for most purposes.

The button used to play the message is a fair size. When you record your message, you'll see a light flash so that you know that it is recording - a nice feature.

When you want to make it easy to make a 'standard' request, or provide a 'standard' answer, this is a great solution. And, since the price is so affordable, you may want to consider having a different device assigned for each situation.
