Autism might be a form of schizophrenia?

by Katie

I am not a doctor, just a mother trying to raise an autistic son who is at times violent and agressive.

His behavior seems very similar to someone who is schizophrenic. As a small child he would scream for no apparent reason and would wake up in a fit as if he was having nightmares.

My son is nonverbal, in a world of is own, and truth be told he is seldom affectionate. Now he is 13 and I am afraid of his physical strength and attacks.

Autism cannot be cured I know because I have gone into financial ruin trying to help him. Its important for parents to accept that Autism cannot be cured, most of us learn this after trying endless therapies because everyone keeps telling you treatment will cure him.
