Adult Down Syndrome visit to Disneyland

by Leanne
(Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)

My husband has had a dream to take his older brother to Disneyland. In April, 2011 we will finally make the trip. His brother Steven is 42 years old and is Mosaic Downs.

He has not traveled outside of Edmonton, Alberta and his home town of Prince George, BC. We are not sure exactly how he will react to the adventure, particularily in Disneyland, but we are excited for the opportunity to experience it with him.

As we understand, Disneyland will assist us with a "disability" pass which will help with wait times in some situations. This sounds like it will help us a lot. Steven does not do well with lenghty waits and we are not sure how he will hold up being on his feet for the long days.

I am sure the 3 days there will truly make some dreams come true for both him and my husband.
